Can I change the reports that come with TraiNet?
Yes, you can. In fact, modifying existing reports is a good way to learn how to create your own reports. You can download the document, Modifying TraiNet Reports from this web site (see below) for detailed information.
Before modifying the TraiNet Reporting Database be sure to make a backup copy. The Reporting Database is the file named Trainet2Reports.mdb in the \TraiNet2\report\ directory where you installed TraiNet.

How do I create reports using TraiNet?
First, familiarize yourself with the reports that come with TraiNet by choosing Run Reports from the File menu at the top of the TraiNet screen, or select the Run Reports button from the Taskbar at the left of the main TraiNet screen. TraiNet comes with a fairly extensive set of basic reports.
Users who wish to create their own reports can use the same MS-Access reporting database that TraiNet uses. MS-Access acts as a reporting "front-end" for TraiNet. TraiNet data is imported into Access, where Access reports can be run against TraiNet data.
Experienced Access users may be able to create their own TraiNet reports. Download the TraiNet Setup and Installation Guide in the Documents area, or as a supplement, Modifying TraiNet Reports here:

Do I need MS-Access to run reports from TraiNet?
Yes. You must have MS-Access 2000 or later to use TraiNet Reports.
When I choose Run Reports in TraiNet, I get an error message while MS-Access is starting up. What should I do?
If you are running TraiNet on a network, TraiNet must write files to the network directories where TraiNet is installed. Please check to make sure your users have read/write privilege in the TraiNet directory and its sub-directories. Otherwise:
Contact the Help Desk. Please describe in detail the nature of the error, and provide the exact text of the error message.
A screen shot showing the error message would also be helpful.
Why are the Run Report button and the Report Title box sometimes disabled (grayed) when I select a report in the "What do you want to do" list?
Some reports in the TraiNet reporting database have not been fully implemented yet. The disabled entries are there as placeholders. If one of the disabled reports would be of particular use to you, email the Help Desk and let us know.
I have entered budget information for a Program, but when I print a Training Agreement report, no funding information shows up.
Open the Program and click on the Funding tab. Now click on the USAID Budgets/Actuals sub-tab (near the bottom of the screen). You must enter information about the source of the USAID funds into the USAID Funding section. This will link the training Program to an Activity Funding Block. If you have filled in USAID budget information and have entered the USAID Funding information, the funding information should print on Training Agreement reports.
When I choose filters in the Report Control Panel, the Training Programs I see listed don't seem to be correct. What's wrong?
You may be experiencing a bug that has been fixed in newer versions of the TraiNet Reports database. Download the most recent version from the Downloads area.
If you still experience the same problem, please contact the Help Desk and describe the problem in detail.
Why aren't the training programs listed in the Report Control Panel in alphabetical order?
Download the latest version of the TraiNet Reports Database from the Download area. The latest version has a Sort checkbox above the Program list. Sorting the training program list slows performance a bit, especially if you have a lot of data. The Sort check box allows you to choose whether to sort the list or not, depending on performance or other requirements.
